THREE
PIECE DESIGN
The
three piece design minimizes installed cost by serving as both valve and
union, eliminating the need for separate expensive unions. Valves
can be permanently installed into piping systems without hampering future
replacement or repair. |
|
 |
DROP-IN
CENTER SECTION
Maintenance
costs are significantly reduced by use of a drop-in center section which
minimizes the time required to replace seats and seals or the entire center
section itself. By removing one bolt and loosening the other three, the
center section can be easily removed. |
ONE
PIECE SEAT/SEAL DESIGN
The
one piece seat/seal design provides reliable bubble-tight shut off, long
seat life, and ease of maintenance. Since the seat and seal are one
single piece, unlike most seat and seals that are two separate pieces,
replacement is simple and effortless. |

BOTTOM
ENTRY STEM
As
safety is of primary concern, the Contro Series utilizes a bottom loaded
stem in all ball valves. The stem is retained by a machined shoulder
in the body of the valve that mates up to a shoulder on the stem. |
| The
Contro B/C Series ball valves are true in-line maintenance style valves
featuring a variety of end connections such as NPT, socket weld, butt weld
or a combination thereof, that can easily adapt to any piping system.
Available in both standard
port (¼" - 8") and full port (½" - 6"), the B/C Series utilizes
a one-piece seat/seal design providing long seat life, reliable bubble-tight
shut off, and ease of maintenance. Its drop-in center section minimizes
the cost and time require for installation and maintenance. Standard
materials of construction include carbon and stainless steel and all come
standardly with 316 stainless steel ball and stem for maximum corrosion
resistance. Sizes 2½" - 4" full port are available in bronze
w/stainless steel trip. Seat material options include PTFE, reinforced
PTFE, UHMWP, Viton and Buna-N. |
In addition to the standard
design, the B/C Series is available in a "Fire-Safe" version with or without
FM approval. The "Fire-Safe" valve is available for those applications
where flammable or hazardous substances are being handled. It employs
a metal "lip", which is an intefral part of the end connection that, in
teh event that primary (soft) seats are destroyed, the line pressure will
force the ball against the "lip" effecting a seal that will prevent excessive
leakage downstream. Additionally, a tongue and grove arrangement
with graphite gasket prevents external leakage to atmosphere. The
"Fire-Safe" valve is pressure rated by Factory Mutual for 125 psi maximum
in flammable liquid servic. |
